Shipyard De Kaap started building vessels in 1938 at the Meppelerdiep, The Netherlands.
Over the years the yard developed a solid reputation as builder of a wide range of of commercial vessels, both inland as coastal.
Today the worforce consists of 40 employees, specialized in all aspects of building, maintenance and repair.
The yard is backed up by a perfect infrastructure and has acces to modern equipment, including a 110 meter sideway launching slipway, permitting vessels of 135 length overall to build.
Next to two building sheds (1800m²) there are several workshops and storage facilities.

Shipyard De Kaap is specialized in new building of light weight inland vessels, passenger vessels and coastal vessels, as well as lengthening of ships with selection building and large ans small repairs.

Being an all round ship building company, Shipyard De Kaap is often confronted with special requests
Whatever the challenge, we will find the solution. And with each solution arrived at, the yard gains extra knowledge and experiences.
Despite the ongoing development of the yard, Shipyard De Kaap maintains some strong traditional values, such as a high esteem for craftmanship, the use of top quality materials and the personal approach of its customers.
